MOVE IN VENICE
The best way to visit and appreciate Venice in all its beauty is moving around on foot. We suggest you to take a map of the city with you, because moving in Venice is not so easy because of the particular urban design of the city.
If you are travelling form and to the hotel with your luggage, we suggest you to take a water taxi; if you do not want to spend a high sum, you have the possibility to use the public transportation service.
The local transport company A.C.T.V. allow to go around using the vaporetto, a typical Venetian boat used for the city public transport. There are numerous lines crossing the Grand Canal (line 82, 1, 4, N). A trip along the Grand Canal by boat is suggested to all those who do not want to miss the suggestive views of the Venetian Palaces. Lines 1 and 82 allow to move in a few minutes from the Rail way station of Santa Lucia to St. Mark or to Piazzale Roma. Lines 51, 52, 61 and 62 will take you in different part of the historic centre, while lines 41, 42, 14 and 12 reach the islands of the Venetian Lagoon.
It is possible to purchase daily tickets for group or individual that allow to travel cheaply. To verify the timetables and the tariffs visit the web site:
